Different automotive lighting and signal systems are not exactly the same. In addition to being beautiful and practical, two requirements must be met: ensuring safety and complying with traffic regulations. The basic composition of the lighting and signal system of such a car is as follows.
(1) Headlights
Also known as headlights, headlights. Its task is to illuminate the road during night operation. The power is 40~60W.
(2) Small Light
Also known as position lights, width lights, parking lights. Its task is to mark the outline or presence of the car when it drives or stops at night. The front light is white and the rear light is red. The power is 5~10W.
(3) License plate lights
Installed above the license plate at the rear of the car. Lights are white. Its role is to illuminate car license plates at night. The power is 5~15W.
(4) Instrument lights
Installed on the car instrument, used to illuminate the instrument at night, the light is white. The power is 2~8W.
(5) Dome light
Installed on the top of the cab for interior lighting of the cab, the light is white. The power is 5~8W.
(6) Fog lights
Its function is used for lighting in rainy and foggy weather, and the light is yellow, because yellow has good fog permeability. The power is 35~55W.
(7) Turn signal
Its role is to indicate the running direction of the car. When the left and right turn signals flash at the same time, it means there is an emergency. The light is yellow. The power is above 20W.
(8) Brake lights
Also called brake light. Installed on the back of the car, its function is to send a light signal to the rear car when the car brakes to stop or brakes to slow down to warn the following vehicles and prevent rear-end collision. The light is red. The power is above 20W.
(9) Reversing lights
It has two functions: one is to send a reversing signal to other vehicles and pedestrians; the other is to reverse the lights at night. Lights are white. The power is above 20W.
(10) Indicator light
Indicates whether a system is in working condition. The light is red and the power is 2W. Such as far and low beam indicators, turn indicators, fog lamp work indicators, air conditioner work indicators, parking brake indicators, retractor work indicators, automatic transmission gear indicators, etc.
(11) Alarm light
Installed on the dashboard, it is used to monitor the technical status of a certain working system of the car, and send out an alarm light signal when an abnormal situation occurs. Lights are red, green or yellow. The power is 2W. Such as engine failure warning light, oil warning light, water temperature warning light, etc.
(12) Others
There are also work lights, door lights, step lights, luggage compartment lights, reading lights, electric horns, buzzers, etc.
