Maybe you already know the difference between halogen bulbs and xenon bulbs, and between xenon bulbs and Bi xenon bulbs. But do you know what a bi xenon projector lens is? How many models are on the market? Why do we need to install Bi xenon projector lens when we update car headlights with hidden xenon bulbs? Which one can be installed? How can we choose the best projector lens? Please follow us and you will know all these points.
1. Why install a projector lens?
Bopuno Bi xenon projection lens can make the lamp brighter and wider. With good sharp cutting, it will be safe at night. Although it is easy to replace the lights with halogen bulbs or a simple plug and play xenon lamp Kit (without projector), it is not safe for you and other road users. Without a suitable projection lens, the beam will not converge. It's dazzling for the driver across the road. This is because the original headlamp chrome reflector was designed for halogen bulbs, not xenon bulbs. On the other hand, without projector lens, the high temperature of xenon bulb will quickly destroy the original chrome reflector and make the light fade quickly. The last important reason is that it is prohibited by law, especially in Europe. According to road safety regulations, hid headlamp bulbs must be fitted with projection lenses. So please install popnow projection lens just to make your family, your friends and others safe on the road.
2. How does the projector lens work?
Simply put, the Bi xenon projector lens has low beam mode and high beam mode. As you can see from the photos below, the lens of Bi xenon projector includes lens, cut-off cover, solenoid, reflecting cup and xenon bulb. When the light is emitted from the bulb, it is reflected by the chrome bowl. The cut-off cover is in contact with the solenoid that supplies power to the original vehicle beam. When powered on, the solenoid works. It will push or pull the cut-off cover downward to make more light pass through the lens and generate high beam. When the power supply is cut off, the solenoid of the proximity lamp will return to normal. And the light is concentrated again after passing through the convex lens, so there will be no glare on the road.

3. You need Bi xenon lamp or low beam projector lens.
Single projector lens with only high beam or low beam. As shown in the figure, if we remove the cut-off cover and solenoid that become a single high beam projector lens. If we only remove the solenoid and the cut-off cover will always stand, then it is a single low beam projector lens. Most automotive original projector lenses belong to low beam projectors.
If your vehicle uses the following bulb types, you can use low beam or Bi xenon lamps:
— H1 / H3 /H7 /H8 /H9/ H11/ H10 / 9005 / 9006
Bi xenon lamps are required if your vehicle uses the following bulb types:
— 9003 / H4 / 9004 / 9007 / 9008 / H13
Maybe you don't know what this model is. There is still a simple way to know how to choose a bi xenon lens or a passing beam lens. If your vehicle has only one bulb and two filaments, and has high beam and low beam. Then you must choose a professional Bi xenon projector lens to provide high / low beam. Well, if your car's headlights have two bulbs, one for low beam and the other for high beam (sometimes this bulb can also provide high / low beam), then you have many options to update your headlights.
Only use the low beam projector to update the low beam.
Update the dipped beam only with the Bi xenon projector lens.
Update the high beam only with the Bi xenon projection lens.
Update both low beam and high beam to bi xenon projector lens. This is the brightest way to update with a bi xenon projector lens, and your car will become the brightest car on the road even during the day.

However, we suggest that the low beam lamps should be updated only considering the transformation cost. The cost of four projector lenses is very high. In most cases, we don't need this huge brightness when driving on urban roads.
4. HID xenon bulb size and mode of use.
Most Bi xenon projector lenses use D1 / D3S or D2 / D4s because this D-series xenon bulb has better lighting, but the price is higher. Therefore, some bi xenon projector lenses can be used with H1, H7 and H11 xenon bulbs to reduce the transformation cost. The Royal Mini H1 projector lens can only be used with H1 xenon bulb and can be adapted to H4 H7 9005 9006 lamps. H11 xenon bulb is mainly used with Bi xenon fog lamp lens. H7 bulb is used for Koito Q5 H7 lens, Hella G5 H7 lens and e46-r H7 lens. Well, it still has a special bulb hc21 for special lenses xp3201 and xp3301. You must select the correct bulb for the correct projector lens. And please do not use your original halogen bulb for Bi xenon projector lens, otherwise you will lose brightness and cannot work normally When you modify the lens of the Bi xenon projector in the headlamp, you do not need a special bulb for the Bi xenon lamp.
5. How is the projector lens connected to the HID bulb?
For Bi xenon projector lens installation, Bi xenon relay harness is required. It can help us protect light bulbs and projector lenses. In general, you can't just plug the ballast into the socket that powers the xenon bulb. From the photos below, you can see the contact between the projector lens and the xenon bulb and the contact between the ballast and the H4 relay. Wiring is the most confusing topic in the renewal of lamp projection lens. Many different connections can be made for different projector lenses and different wires. But this simple wiring diagram is also helpful for you.

6. Can led bulbs be used for xenon projector lens?
This year, LED bulbs and LED projector lenses are becoming more and more popular in China. Many customers want to update their cars with LED bulbs and LED projector lenses. Someone got an LED light and installed it into the lens of the popnow xenon projector.
In fact, the internal structure of xenon lamp is designed as the focal length of HID bulb. Therefore, if we find an LED bulb with a focal length similar to the HID bulb, the effect will be very good.
7. LHD and RHD
LHD means left-hand driving and RHD means right-hand driving. RHT represents right-hand traffic and LHT represents left-hand traffic. You can understand it this way: LHD is RHT and RHD is LHT. Therefore, if the car is driven by the left hand, the steering wheel is located on the left side of the car. Then the left-hand drive car needs to drive on the right side of the road. For example, China and the United States... If the car is driven by the right hand, the steering wheel is on the right side of the car. Then the right-handed car needs to drive on the left side of the road. For example, Japan, Thailand, Australia
In Europe, headlamps approved for use on one side of the road must be able to produce sufficient lighting and have controllable glare for temporary driving on the other side of the road. Our projector lens produces asymmetric light and is only suitable for use on one side of the road. The low beam headlamps in LHT jurisdiction project most of the light to the front left; RHT lights project most of the light forward to illuminate obstacles and road signs while minimizing glare from oncoming vehicles.
