What you need to know before buy LED headlight bulbs replacement for your auto cars halogen or HID headlamps upgrade for vision, safety and luxury improvement? The following guides you from six aspects on how to choose the best led headlight from the following specifications.

1.Lamp chips and substrate

Led car lights are mainly made of chips to emit light. The quality of chips is related to the quality and effect of the entire lamp. Generally, If the number of chips is large, use lower-cost small chip technology

. There will be gaps between the chips, so even if the initial light is a little high, but the chips will have poor astigmatism, large thermal and light decay, easy to self-decrease, and the quality stability is not as good as using large chip technology.

2.Make a choice based on your car

(1)Does your car need to be decoded?

Before replacing your car’s LED headlights, it’s best to consult your car dealer to find out whether your car’s system needs to be decoded.Because if you install an LED headlight casually, the car dashboard will have a fault light alarm, which will affect the radio, or cause the car lights to turn off, flicker and other problems, or even burn the trip computer., except for some sensitive models (such as Ford, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Volvo, Lexus, Chrysler, Mini, etc.). They may need an additional CANBUS decoder.

(2)Does your car have a lens?

The headlight lens is to add a group of convex lens optical glass lens in front of the headlight bulb, the shape is like a fish eye.It can make the light more focused, make the range longer, so as to achieve better lighting effects.

(3)Is your car suitable for installing LED headlights?

Not all cars are suitable for installing LED headlights. The LED headlights are larger than the original car halogen bulbs, and some car headlight assemblies have a small location where the bulbs are installed, only enough to install the original car halogen bulbs, but not LED headlights at all.

For example, compared with Volkswagen's low beam, the installation space is very small, and there is not enough space to install the LED headlights. Moreover, the original car's dust cover is connected to the wire, which is different from the installation logic of the LED headlights and cannot be installed.

Therefore, if you want to choose LED headlights that are easy to install. It is necessary to choose the same headlight product as the original car halogen lamp deck, which is almost the same as the stock halogen lamp in 1:1. Plug and play, direct replacement.

3、Don't blindly pursue high power

Because of the advantages of the light-emitting principle, the automotive LED headlights are already very bright without high power.Everyone knows that halogen lamps use tungsten filaments to emit light. After power on, the tungsten filaments are heated to incandescent state to emit light. Electric energy is converted into heat energy, and then into light energy; in the process of converting into light energy, about 90% of the heat is converted into infrared waves that have no effect on lighting, which is wasted. Only about 10% of the energy is converted into visible light. The electro-optical conversion efficiency is only about 10%.

The LED headlights are "light-emitting diodes" that emit light. A light emitting diode (LED for short) is a semiconductor electronic component that can convert electrical energy into light energy. Therefore, "bright and energy-saving" is the most significant feature of LED lights. The LED lamp only needs about 60% of the power of the original car halogen lamp, and the brightness is more than 3 times that of the original car halogen lamp. The power of the LED lamp is generally 20 to 30 watts, which does not need the high power of a halogen lamp of 55W.

4.Choose the color temperature of the headlights according to personal preference

Nowadays, mainstream automotive LED headlights on the market mainly have two color temperatures: 6000K pure white light and 2500K super yellow light.

Headlights are generally selected at around 6000-6500K. Pure white light is like the sunlight at noon, with good color rendering, clear lighting, and not easy to visual fatigue;

Fog lamps generally choose around 2500K. The ultra-yellow light has strong penetrating power and is more suitable for use in rainy and foggy days.

If there are relati

vely few rainy and foggy days in your area, it is recommended to choose 6000K-6500k pure white light.

If there are relatively many rainy and foggy days in your area, you can also choose "dual-color temperature LED headlights". Use pure white light on sunny days and yellow light on rainy and foggy days.

TECTICO-led headlights use 6500K cool white LED headlight bulbs, which are 300% brighter than halogen bulbs. The diamond white light effect is more suitable for vehicles in North America.

5.choose the headlight model accurately

Commonly used models of car headlights are: H1, H3, H4, H7, H8, H9, H11, 9005, 9006, 9012 and so on.

Whether it is a halogen lamp or an LED lamp, all bulb interfaces are produced according to uniform specifications; as long as the headlight model corresponds to, the interface must be the same. Therefore, before upgrading and installing LED headlights, you must first figure out what headlight model your car uses. If the headlight model is wrong, you must not install it correctly.

Therefore, you can refer to TECTICO vehicle filter system to inquire about the headlight model of your vehicle. But the most accurate is to check your user manual or the part number on the original bulb to confirm the bulb size/model。

6.Choose LED headlights with "radiator + fan" cooling method

Most of the products on the market have a fan speed of 20,000 rpm per minute, so the fan generates a lot of noise. The TECTICO led lamp fan uses dynamic balancing technology, and the fan rotates at 8000 revolutions per minute. Realize the effect of ultra-quiet and efficient heat dissipation.
